Aside from the content of MobileActive08, I'm fascinated by the methodology. At many conferences I've attended, you often hear the comment that the sessions were so-so, but the networking made it worthwhile. But people usually go on to say -- but there was not enough time for the networking.

This conference seems to have been organised around networking. There are workshops and mini-talks, which resemble traditional conference session, but most of it is a kind of bazaar, where people set up their stalls and demonstrations, and one can wander around and network.

Then today and tomorrow we have the Open Space sessions, where participants are free to propose their own discussions and presentations, and then attend (or not) the groups they wish to attend. So it becomes very democratic, a bit anarchic, and incredibly exciting and productive.
